We all have
but one soul each. It is up to us to ensure that it remains white or clean of evil.
Spirits linger when we are alive and after our death. A soul is the measuring instrument of ones humanity.

Good Discussion Topic!
I like your perspective Zeno, way to lay it out. NOTE: When I say God, or Universe, or Spirit I am referring to the supreme being, the creator. I am not referring to any particular face of God, or religion.
What do I believe?
I absolutely believe in souls and spirit. I'd be amazed if there was any human being who has never felt The Spirit, because it lingers everywhere.
First I would like to say that I was raised in a Christian home (my father is a preacher), but now I kind of have my own religion. Somebody once said,"There is truth in every religion, and error in every religion". And I totally agree with him. So ever since then, what I believe is what rings true to my divine self (my higher-nature)and what I strongly identify with. So whenever you feel something resonating within you, take note. But stronger than my religious belief is my faith. I have an inner voice that tells me everything is going to be okay, it will all workout. You know, have you ever looked into someone's face and saw God looking back at you? Or looking into a sunset on the horizon did you ever feel the sensation of recognizing something from the place you came from(HOME)? Or have you ever stood on the rocks by the ocean with the waves coming in and out, did you stop to breathe and listen to what the winds carry with it or what the ocean has to say? Spirit is everywhere, and I've learned that when you shut up and listen you will hear and feel the universe and its workings. Does the earth have a Spirit? You bet ya! And everything between her and the heavens do too. My higher self tells me that as it is here it is everywhere else, Spirit I mean. Every planet, every galaxy, everything within the whole creation has Spirit.
I want you to really think about what I am about to lay out. Okay, say you're making some perfume, you add so many parts of this and so many parts of that and so on, when you're done you have a unique mixture of ingredients, a unique essence. I believe that every soul, every separate being has its own individual essence. Imagine your own, what ingredients do you think you're made up of? How many parts generosity, how many parts logical, how many parts creative? I believe that the soul is the highest vibration of a being, it is their true self. And every soul has a unique expression, essence, and purpose. Now take all of these souls here on earth and add that all up, you have the spirit of the earth. Add up all the planets, add up all the galaxies, add up everything and you have the whole. To me God is the consciousness of the whole, and we are part of that. The spirit part of everything, that energy.
I want to add a few more comments about evil. I know that eventually everything and everybody is going to be okay and no soul is bad or evil forever, but bad forces do exist. They are not part of God's Creation, but rather a mutation of energy of our own doing. Something does not become evil until it is acted out upon. Something becomes evil when it turns its back on the Universe and is working toward destruction. But evil can always be changed back to good. "Light does the darkness most fear." And also God's Love is unconditional, and forgiveness was something created for us not for God.

i think that it's a nice idea/solid theory...but we'll see if it's "fact"
